The Application Process

| After you Submit your Proposal |
| When you have filled out the online application, reviewed your entries and submitted the form your proposal will go to your mentor for approval. Your mentor may approve your proposal as-is or ask you to revise it. after your mentor approves the proposal it will be reviewed by an expert in your field. The USP director will decide whether to fund your proposal based on the comments provided by your mentor and the reviewer. |

| After your application materials have been received, your proposal will be judged based upon the following criteria: |

Project originality and significance |

Project feasibility |
 |
Your capabilities, preparation, and successful completion of appropriate coursework |
 |
Quality of the written proposal in terms of organization, spelling, and grammar |

| Receive Notification |
| You will receive an email, phone call, or letter concerning the acceptance or non-acceptance of your application. |
| |
| If your application was accepted: |
 |
Make arrangements as soon as possible to meet with the USP Program Coordinator in Reid 418. |
 |
After you meet with the USP Program Coordinator, you will receive your stipend at the next payroll distribution date. |

| If your application was not accepted: |
 |
Make arrangements to discuss any problems and additional ideas regarding your proposal and application with the USP Director, Steven Holmgren. |

You may revise and resubmit your application. |
