Web News  Jan. 14, 2000

Hi, Webmasters! I hope you survived the whole Y2K thing without any
glitches. I must say, as happy as I am that there weren't any major
catastrophes, it still would have made for more interesting headlines if
SOMETHING would have happened! I really enjoyed watching all the
television coverage of the millenium celebrations around the world. Did
anyone tune in to some of the Internet news broadcasts that were going
on? If you did, write to the listserv and let us know about it. Also, if
you did encounter anything Y2K-ish with your computer, I'm sure the
group would like to know about that, too.

Have a great weekend!

Kentucky is creating a national computer project! This sounds like a
potentially cool curriculum--it would come with a workbook and also a
CD-ROM. I am assuming this would be all kinds of computer projects, and
not just Web-related stuff, but I bet it would be great for Montana
4-H'ers in Webmasters. We may even have the chance to pilot-test some of
the materials...I'll keep you posted on this!

Just wondering...have any of you done any video conferencing? Or do you
have a WebCam? I am thinking about getting one so I can have video
conferences with my mom. The thing that may be tough, though, is that
she is on a Gateway PC and I am on a Mac. If you have used any of these
tools or services, please write in to the list-serve so we can all hear
about your experiences.
