Dear Mitch,
We have been doing something called The Bozeman Project. The Bozeman Project is about Bozeman’s history. We have had many guests throughout the past month and a half. Some of the people we have learned about are Rosa Beall. Her husband was William Beall. He was a farmer in the Gallatin Valley. We also learned about Emma Weeks Willson. She was married to General Willson. She also had the first piano in the Montana Territory. Lady Blackmore died in her house. John Bozeman came out to Virginia City looking for gold. He helped emigrants settle here. He was 27 when he moved to Virginia City. Later on we learned about Thomas Cover. He built a flour mill for John Bozeman. He had a partner named W.B. Meadow. However we learned about Walter Cooper. He came to the Gallatin Valley in 1863 for a search of gold. Those are some of the people we learned about. We interviewed and worked at a business downtown and we interviewed an artist. I hope you enjoyed learning about our Bozeman Project.

Bozeman – Pueblo Colorado - Rylea
Things that make Bozeman special are everywhere. One thing that makes Bozeman special are the mountains that surround you every day that you come out to see them. A reason that makes it special is the history like the gold rush. The College that makes Bozeman so big. Also the surroundings like the land and the valleys make Bozeman special. That is why Bozeman is special.
The things that make Pueblo Colorado special. One thing is the landscaping which is the desert, mountains, grasslands and cliffs. The surroundings like the lake and the cactuses. The people make the best of Pueblo. I think the lake is a great attractions and fun why to cool off. Pueblo is a great place to live in.
Bozeman – Colorado Springs - Gunnar
There are some things that make Bozeman special. There are lots of things to do. You can hunt a lot because there are a lot of animals. I also think Bozeman is special because I have family here. I like Bozeman because the food is good and I have friends. These are the reasons why, I think, Bozeman is special.
There are some things that make Colorado Springs special. I have a lot of friends there. They have a lot of fun places to go. They have a good college in Colorado. There is not a lot of crime there and there is tons of stuff to do around there. That is why Colorado Springs is a great place to be.
There are some reasons why I would like to live in Colorado. I would like to live in Colorado because I have family there. It is sunny a lot. There are lots of lakes to fish in. You can water ski. Colorado has good schools. That is the reason why I would like to live in Colorado.
Bozeman – Annapolis - Courtney
The things that make Bozeman special are first of all, the people. In Bozeman, the people have awesome personality. I love the wildlife in Bozeman, it’s awesome! There is always so much to see! The historical buildings are awesome. When you look at them you can imagine what they were like back then! The views of the mountains are beautiful!
The things that make Annapolis special are the number one Naval Academy. I love the Naval Academy. The seafood in Annapolis is probably the best seafood you ever going to get! The harbor is beautiful! When you look out into the harbor you can see the fish glittering user the water. I love the view of the Capitol Building. The people in Annapolis are so nice they just love having people around!
The reason a person would pick Annapolis to live in is because it has its own type of style! When you watch the sailboats you‘ll know how beautiful Annapolis is! Annapolis has the best Naval Academy ever! If you go to Annapolis you are going to see so man historical sites. If you walk downtown, you can get lost. There are so many places to explore! Now, that is what I call a city!
Bozeman – Carol Stream, Illinois - Steve
In this paragraph I will tell you five things that make Bozeman special. The first thing that makes Bozeman special is that they do a lot of hunting for lots of animals. The second thing is that they put dogs in the back of their trucks and you won’t see that in Carol Stream. The third reason is different is because there are a lot of deer and you won’t see those around in a big city. The fourth reason is there are mountains and there are no mountains in Carol Stream. The filth and final thing is has a much higher elevation than Carol Stream.
So if there are things that make Bozeman special there has to be five reasons Carol Stream is special. Reason one is that the schools and houses are close together and not in the mountains. Reason two is they have big backyards because they don’t give it to ranching. Reason three is you can ride your bike to the convenience store. Reason four is you can, sometimes, walk to the elementary school and the high school. Reason five, the stores are closer to the houses.
I personally think that you should like Carol Stream, Illinois is because one, houses are close together but no too close. The second reason is that you can walk to the schools. It has on of the best hot dogs, Chicago style. Pizza there is the best! For the ladies, there is shopping at the variety of stores. So that is why I think you should live in Carol Stream.
Bengal - Bozeman - Shelby
There are many special things about Bozeman, MT. Snowboarding is one of my favorite things to do in Bozeman. Bozeman gets a lot of snow that is good for snowboarding and snowball fights. I also like the season’s change during the year. I like the seasons because they all have a different temperature and they are all fun in different ways. Lewis and Clark came through Bozeman on their expedition. There are also lots of cute animals here in Bozeman. Many people travel to Bozeman to see all these great things.
Bengal has many special things that Bozeman doesn’t have. The animals Bengal has are very different. We have deer and elk and they have monkeys. They have very big beautiful temples that are amazing. Some of these temples can only be seen in Bengal. Henna tattoos are very common in Bengal. There are Bengal tigers that can’t be found in Bozeman and they are beautiful. These are some of the special features that Bozeman and many other places do not have.
Bengal is a beautiful place. These are some of the reasons why people would like to live in Bengal. If you like tigers, Bengal is the place four you. Curry is common in Bengal too. Temples are beautiful in Bengal. Beaches are fun in Bengal because lots of nice people are there. If you love hot and humid weather, Bengal is for you. These are the things Bengal has.
Bozeman – Hingham - Rylea
Bozeman is a very special place. Even thought I live 20 minutes from where most of my friends are here in town. My family makes Bozeman special for me. My cat is my best friend when you wake up to frost-covered mountains you know that nothing can get better except snow. Snow swirling around you, filling you with the sensation of wonder. Bozeman is a magical city.
Unlike in Bozeman, in Hingham Massachusetts you are surrounded by the ocean. On one of those hot sticky days, feels amazingly good to go for a swim at the beach where the sand wiggles through your toes, gives you excellent ideas for a book, painting or anything you are interested in. The view I cannot begin to explain its beautiful. Skiing the ocean surface you can sail with the winds pushing you.
Bozeman – Calgary - Kyle B.
There a re few special things about Bozeman. There is a lot of skiing and snowboarding in Bozeman. There is a lot of fishing in Bozeman. There is a lot of hunting in Bozeman. There are a lot of good schools in Bozeman. For all the women, there is a lot of shopping.
There are a few things about Calgary. There is an amazing Olympic ski park. There is a lot of museums in Calgary. There is the Calgary Zoo. There are a lot of friendly people there. There are really nice hotels.
Why a person would pick to live in Calgary? Because there is a lot of amazing sites. There is a great town of Olympic Ski Park. There are great places for children. They have a fun zoo called Calgary Zoo. They have great things to buy.
Bozeman – Ocean View - Emily
Some of the things that make Bozeman special are the snow. The snow in Montana is amazing specially having a ski resort that is 15 miles from downtown Bozeman. Some of the other specials of Bozeman are some of the many trails, go hiking or biking on such as Sacagawea peak. However, one of my favorites things about Bozeman is the food. The local restaurants are great. Another thing that I think a lot of other people like about Bozeman is the people and the horses. First, the people here are so nice and generous. Second, the way people save the restaurants, the houses, it is just amazing. There are some really spectacular things about Bozeman.
Like anyone would there are some really special things about Ocean View such as the entertainment. If you were to go to Ocean View, you could play a game of mini golf or maybe take a whoosh down a waterslide. Another thing is the ocean and the sand watching the glimmering water and the sparkling sand. The thing I like about the people is that my grandparents live there. They also have freshet food you could get fresh crab or fish such as shark or flounder. Some of the skiing and the tubing. As a result there are some sharp special things about Ocean view.
Reasons I would pick Bozeman to live in is the entertainment such as the live bands. Festivals are very popular in Bozeman, one of those festivals is Sweet Pea, it has a parade and other fun events. In the winter when it snows in Bozeman most people go skiing or snowboarding. Bozeman has a lot of nice and friendly people; it is as if everybody knows everybody else. The surroundings of Bozeman are he amazing mountains and their beautiful lakes. Bozeman is the place where I chose to live.
Bozeman – Bloomington - Paige
Bozeman is special in many ways. One of the ways is we have a carnival called Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea is where we have a big parade, performances, tasty food, activities, and art. Another place is the Hot Springs. The Hot Springs is a big building with lots of pools. We have a college, MSU. We have a big museum called Museum of the Rockies. One of the special things is the farmers market. I think those are great qualities.
Bloomington also has special qualities. The first quality is their great science museum. The Wonder Lab. One of the other special things is their college, LU. Another thing is their library. It is huge! My favorite thing is Bryan Park, it is a water park and a playground! The last thing is their market. They have lots of goods things. I think it is great there!
I think one of the reasons someone would pick Bozeman to live is the nice quiet atmosphere. Another reason is the gallery works. The last reason is all the local stores and restaurants. I love Bozeman.
Bozeman - Helena - Sonny
There are some things that make Bozeman special. One important thing is that there is so much beautiful wildlife. You could never forget about the mountains. Or even the rivers are awesome. I think the community is very nice and carrying. If you walk down Main Street you will see at least five historic buildings on one block. I think that is special.
These are some things that make Helena special. It is the capital of Montana. I am a skateboarder and boy the have good skateboard parks. But Helene has also beautiful mountains and rivers. Wildlife, you do not want to forget that. They have that too. Helena also has good skate spots.
So they are both good spots to live, but I would pick Bozeman to live in. One reason would be skateboarding. Another one is if you were an artist you could paint pictures of the mountains. If you were a photographer, you could take pictures. Another reason is that in the town here, we have some interesting animals. Last but definitively not least all the historic buildings here are breathtaking. So if you think my report on Bozeman and Helena is good, wait until you see these places.
Bozeman – Uncles Ranch - Madi
I love Bozeman because it is my hometown but also because the people are courageous and exciting. It is not a poor city. Most of my family on my mom’s side lives here. There are not too many bad guys like robbers and last but not least the sunsets are beautiful. These are the things that make Bozeman special.
The things that make Uncle Ranch special are the drive down is beautiful. The view of the mountains is wonderful. The horses are very pretty and very nice. There is wildlife all over. All of it is so beautiful. My family loves fishing but I never eat the fish. The fish holes are CRAZY down there. Once, I almost caught 10 fishes in one hour! That is why Uncle Ranch is special.
The reasons why people would probably pick my uncle’s ranch to live is because you could have the choice of three other ranches, the swimming pool, the dollar store where EVERYTHING is one dollar. The people who live there are really fun to hang out with. The sunsets are beautiful! That is why people might pick my Uncle Ranch to live in.
You can sail with the wind pushing you on encouragely. Words end in nature wilderness sight tops your days off. Hingham has a lot to offer. Fenway Park is a baseball park 20 miles away from Hingham, lights the city at night. Another stadium, this time 40 miles away, is Gellete Stadium where you can watch some very exciting soccer games. Carrousels are a main source of entertainment on those breezy nights. Ice-cream stands are populated there. Ingham would be really fun to live in.
Bozeman – Wyoming - Uri
Bozeman is a very nice place. It is comparable to Wyoming because it has ski, Yellowstone, it has lots of mountains, and deer. In Bozeman, my mom makes me very happy almost always. She plays with me all the time she can.
Wyoming is a place like Montana. It has very nice stuff in it. It has very nice and beautiful wildlife since it is in Yellowstone.
The reason in person would live in Bozeman is that there is ski in here and lots of sports. There is biking and soccer. Hiking is very fun. Bozeman is great.
Bozeman - Helena - Douglas
Bozeman has nice views. It also has lots of history behind it. Bozeman is not crowded. Has a lot of skiing. Bozeman has a good college to go to.
Helena is the capital. It has nice views. There is forest right by it. Also there is a lake right by Helena. It has a lot of placed to live.
Bozeman has a museum. Also it has good fishing. It has a lot of sports. There is a lot of open area. Bozeman has a great view of the mountains. That is why you should live in Bozeman.
Bozeman – Amarillo - Hannah
Hi, my name is Hannah. I am doing a report on what is different from Bozeman to Amarillo. Things that make Bozeman special are mountains because they are so beautiful. There is also low crime. The most beautiful things are the trees. There are two better there: no hurricanes and wonderful produce.
The next thing is what that makes Amarillo special. The most special things are animals! Secondly is the desert. Thirdly are restaurants. You have to have to have trees! My most favorite are the flowers!
The next things are the houses. The rain is beautiful. Also, they have different birds. My most favorite restaurant here is Crakel Barrel. You should see the family.
Bozeman – Rome - Theo
Bozeman is a very special place. It has skiing in local ski resorts. Bozeman is also close to Yellowstone, the first National Park. Like Yellowstone, Bozeman has lots of wildlife from the range of rabbits to grizzly bears. Bozeman is also famous from the carnivals such as Sweet Pea and the Christmas Stroll. Bozeman is a wonderful place to live.
Rome, Italy, is also a great place to live. Rome has amazing history such as the gladiators and the pope. Art is also a big thing in Rome, not only modern art but Michelangelo and the Chapels. In Rome the food is excellent! Italy is famous for pizza and pasta. But the architecture is outstanding. I mean the Coliseum has been around for 2,000 years. Last but certainly not least, Italy is outstanding at soccer, just this year they won the world cup! Rome is a great place to live!
I would recommend Bozeman for someone to live. It has very nice people who live there. Bozeman has a University so if you are a college student it would be convenient. Bozeman has great skiing. It is very non-populated. Bozeman is a very outdoors community.
Bozeman - Saint Paul - Keavon
Bozeman is a small city. Bozeman has lots of festivals. When you live in Bozeman you get to know the city. Bozeman has a great college. When you get around people they learn your name. Most of the people say hi and talk with you. That is what I like about Bozeman.
Saint Paul is a big city. It has the Mall of America. It has a good college. My older sister, Klarisa, goes there. Saint Paul is where I flew in from Cancun. It has festivals. Saint Paul seems fun. Why would someone want to live in Saint Paul? It is a big city. There a lot of people. It has a good college. Has the Mall of America. Has some festivals. This is why someone would want to live in Saint Paul.
Bozeman - Boulder, CO - Karenna
Bozeman is special to me because Bozeman has very little pollution. The wilderness is really close by, since it is a small town, there isn’t much traffic. Bozeman is a very safe town, there is hardly any bad people. Bozeman has many more reasons for being a good town, and I hope reasons for being a good town keep ongoing.
Boulder, CO is a great place to go rock climbing, hiking trails are numerous it has beautiful mountains the university is fantastic, it is huge. The mall is awesome there are people juggling doing magic tricks, playing instruments, the performers are spectacular. I cannot wait until I go there again.
I think I would pick Bozeman to live in rather than Boulder. Because there is a lot less pollution, less people, less traffic. Three ski areas are close by, it is not as big, it has a mall university with not too many people. Bozeman and Boulder both are great places.
Bozeman – Seattle - Kaj
There are lots of great things about Bozeman like the ski. There is always snow in the mountains. But there are more things about Bozeman. Like the fishing is always great foe everyone. There are many schools in Bozeman but I think that Longfellow is the best. And also a thing that comes with the schools are the parks scatter everywhere. Normally Bozeman is a very calming town, not always chaotic.
But there is another place that I like besides Bozeman. That is Seattle Washington. It is close to the Blake islands. It also has a bunch of parks just like Bozeman. I love Bozeman in all but Seattle has the rain and cars, it is a big city.
I am not picking the place because I like it more. I have been in Seattle more. Because Seattle has good shopping, lots of people to have fun with. The rain and good fishing. Bozeman and Seattle are both good cities.
Bozeman - Orlando - Baylee
Bozeman MT is where me and my family live. It is a nice place to live. It is peacefull, it has a great view of the mountains, lots of livestock and has the first Natl. Park called Yellowstone. Oh! And cold I like it cold!
Orlando is in FL, has World Disney world. We just came from there! They have lots of beaches and lots of sea life. The state bird is the mocking bird. The strangest thing there is the Annual Fiddle contest. People play the fiddle the best. It is really hot hot there 95F in the summer!
It I could pick between two cities I would pick Bozeman, because is just the right size and cold! Orlando is just too big and busy. Bozeman is the place for me.
Bozeman – Eugene - Sam
There is one place I would rather live than Bozeman. It is Eugene, Oregon. I will tell you some good things about Bozeman. The skiing is close. It has nice people. It has good summer, good winter. It is the right size (not too big but not too small). I have good friends in Bozeman. Bozeman is a great place to live.
Eugene, Oregon is a great place to live too. Why I would like to live in Eugene is because my aunt, cousin, and uncle live there. They have a good college. They have good sports. The stores are close to the college. Eugene would be a super place to live. I would choose Bozeman because I have good friends. The skiing is close, it has great history. Great sunsets, great wildlife. That is why I would live in Bozeman.
Bozeman - New York - Gabriel
Things that make Bozeman special are that there are not as many people compare to New York. Another thing that makes Bozeman special is that it is the only state that doesn’t have tax for things that you buy at the stores. Next, Lewis and Clark travel through Bozeman, third there is not as much traffic, so it is easy to get around. Next is that there is less population than in New York. I think Bozeman is cool.
Things that make New York special is that there are more stores to chose from, and is one of the biggest cities in the world. Next is the statue of Liberty that is really cool, there is also more diversity than lots of places. Fourth they have lots of oceans. The last thing that makes New York special is they have the best pizza in the world. I like New York a lot.
I would pick Bozeman to live because the Sweet Pea festival is really fun. Second, MSU is a good college. Also I like the nature around Bozeman. Next all of my friends live in Bozeman. Last but not least is there is great wildlife.
Bozeman – Keats Island - Cayley
There are many things that make Bozeman special. The things that make it special to me are mainly things that are important to me. One of the best qualities Bozeman has is that it is very beautiful. There is also a fantastic view of the mountains. Those mountains are great for skiing. There are great numbers of parks in Bozeman as well as an historic downtown. But the best thing about Bozeman is that it is not some big city with lots of crime. All in all, Bozeman is pretty special.
Another place I think is pretty special is Keats Island. Keats is in British Columbia close to Vancouver. The things that make Keats awesome are pretty cool too. First of all, Keats has a beach (of course because it is an island). Another thing is that they have hikes to ice-cream (yum). Keats has beautiful views, looking out over the ocean that no other place has. Also bright, and early on most morning, the kayaking is killer. But everyday Keats is special to me.
I would love to live on Keats anytime, but other reasons people would live there are plentiful too. First of all, the houses on Keats Island are cool and each one of them has a story. Swimming has everything that has to do with water you can do there. Whenever you walk there, there are always juicy blackberries just waiting to fill you up. All the people on Keats Island are friendly people. Whenever you have a problem, fixing something or other your neighbors are always there to help. Keats is really fantastic and I think anyone who is not willing to live there is crazy.
Bozeman-Brusett, MT - Sophie
Bozeman is a very unique place because of its beautiful fields and absolutely amazing mountains. Bozeman, being the a little city that it is started out small and got bigger as it got more popular. Downtown Bozeman is very historical, with all its buildings that are, for some, over 100 years ago. The people in Bozeman are mostly very nice and friendly. Restaurants in Bozeman are awesome because we have almost every kind of food. As you can see Bozeman is a very nice, great, unique and beautiful place to live.
The small town of Brusett is really amazing. This town has a lot of social events and dances downtown. The people in Brusett know everyone else in town and do things with each other. Brusett is located in the Great Plains there are lots animals and rodeos in Brusett, this is why Brusett, MT is special.
I think someone would like to live in Brusett because there are lots of social events, also because of the nice people and animals. There are also a lot of good restaurants. In Brusett there is a lot of privacy and space. Living in Brusett will not be the easy life but it will be fun to try to live there.
