Special Interest Pieces
Dear Drake,
In 1898 all the streets were in squares around areas
of
land, In 1898 college street barely had anything on it. In 1884
there
were two schools: East Side School and West Side School. Garfield
Street
had one house in 1898.

Business Reports
Helly Hansen
By Dovas Rackauskas & Brennan Tolnay
At Helly Hansen we had the best and only work
experience.
We got to organize and label hats. When we took the plastic away
from
the hats, we had to throw away the plastic. We had to do all the
work
in the back of the store. We really loved working at Helly Hansen.
Here is the history of that business. Jon and
his
wife, Katie, started the business in February 2004. There were no
previous
owners. So far there haven’t been any crimes at their
store.
That is some history about the store.
Here is a small description of the store. The
most
expensive thing is an orange jacket for four hundred dollars. The
main
things they sell are skiing and snowboarding gear. Men and women
shop
at Helly Hansen. They have six employees there. Different
seasons
change the amount of selling. Helly Hansen doesn’t sell a lot of
skateboards.
That is just a little bit of information.
Here are opinions of Helly Hansen. The reason they chose downtown
is
because they think it’s the best place to shop. Traffic does not
affect
them, but it was bad for the customers. The growth of Bozeman has
helped
Helly Hansen. They compete against the mall and other ski
places.
That’s the opinion about Helly Hansen.
Bozeman To Other Cities
Bozeman - Santa Cruz
by Dovas
There are many great things about Bozeman. It is the
mountains,
because they protect us from tornadoes. I also like the wild animals
they
are great. Another thing that I like are the trails, because if you
want
to bike to school you hardly have to go on any roads. When you
are
skiing in Bozeman it’s totally fun because in other places you can’t
even
ski! Those are the best things about Bozeman.
These are the best things about Santa Cruz. The
oceans
are cold but very nice. My favorite ride at the boardwalk was the Big
Dipper
because it was the first roller coaster I’ve ever been on. Sand and the
heat
were other things that I like. Those are the best things about Santa
Cruz.
Bozeman is what I prefer. Mountains protect you from
tornadoes.
Wild animals are great. Trails in Bozeman are nice. Skiing is very
fast.
That is why I prefer Bozeman.
Opera House
Main Street
Bozeman, MT 59715
Nov. 15, 2005
Dear Dovas Rackauskas,
I will tell you what I look like. The Bozeman
Hotel
has some of the same styles as I do. On the opening day of the
Bozeman
Hotel, there was a bridge going from my second floor to the second
floor
of the Hotel. They wanted Bozeman to look like a civilized place
so
that people would come here. The first library was in me.
I’m
located on the corner of Main and Rouse. That is some information
about
me.
Now I will tell you what they should do with the
open
space. I think they should leave it. Why I think they
should
leave it is because you would not be able to see the mural. All
they
need to add to the park is more grass, put more trees in it, and add a
fountain.
That’s what I think they should do with it.
Sincerely,
The Opera House
Historical Fiction
Sweet Pea
By Dovas
I’m a four-year-old boy who went to the first Sweet Pea in 1978.
I
was plays and art. Seventeen organizers started it and made
it
great. Now I’ve been growing up going to every single Sweet Pea.
Now I’m thirty-two years old and going to run my tenth 10K race.
The
race starts and everybody starts running, trying to get the lead.
I
stay back, not losing my energy. After about twenty minutes of
hard
running, sweat starts beating down my face. I’m in tenth place,
but
I might be running too fast because we’ve only ran three miles, and
it’s
a six-mile race. My armpits start to really sweat. Now
there’s
only two miles left. The side of my body starts to burn like a
forest
fire! I keep going, one mile left, and I’m in second place!
I
start to really speed. I’m tied for first place! I’ve
won!
Now it’s time for interviews. “How do you feel about winning this
race?”
says the reporter. I reply, “I feel great. It was very fun!”
“Do you feel this was your hardest race?”
“I think it was the hardest race, and I’ve done ten.”
“Why do you think it was the hardest one?”

What I think About Things
Dovas
Bozeman in 2099
What I think Bozeman in 2099 will look like is, it will have escalators
instead
of stairs. The sidewalks will move instead of you moving your legs.
Cars
will work from garbage. You couldn’t have allergies (because of recent
studies).
There would be no pollution. Bobcats were the world champions in every
sport.
Taxis would be transporters through generations ( for one dollar a
generation).
You would press a button and you were dressed. At a food restaurant
things
would read your mind to know what you wanted. Every house had solar
panels
(no more blowing of the earth!!). Kids could play sports wherever they
wanted
to if they wore ghost suits. Chess would be played like wizard chess in
Harry
Potter. You could do the moonwalk with your shoes. Lights would stop
your
car for you so on one blew a red light. When roads got icy wire under
the
ground would melt it. That is what it will look like in 2099.
