EDCI320 - Accessing your Z Drive from Off Campus

For Internet Explorer Users

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. In the address bar type ≥ftp://opal.msu.montana.edu/≤ and hit Enter.

3. A dialog box will come up and ask for username and password. Type ≥MSU\username≤ and then enter your password.

4. Browse through the folders for your name and that is your Z Drive.

For Mozilla Firefox and Macintosh Users

1. Download FileZilla at http://filezilla-project.org/

2. Install Filezilla and then run it.

3. With the screen open, type in the Host name (opal.msu.montana.edu), your username (MSU\username), your password, and the Port Number (which is always 21).

4. Click on the ≥Quickconnect≤ button.

5. After you connect, you are able now to scroll through the folders. The folders are organized by the first letter in your username.

6. Navigate to the folder labeled with the first letter of your username. Open the folder and then navigate to the folder labeled with your username.

7. Open your folder (labeled with your username). You now have accessed your Z drive account.
