Accreditation Self Study Master Time Line
December 1, 2007: Startup; president assigns/invites participation.
January 18, 2008: Convene steering committee for charge/indoctrination.
February 1, 2008: News release through MSU News Bureau re the accreditation effort.
February 1 - 29, 2008: Standard groups organize & plan.
March 1 - August 15, 2008: Information collection, analysis; report writing.
April 1, 2008: Accreditation web site launched.
September 1, 2008: Standard reports from work groups submission deadline (to Standard leaders).
November 2, 2008 - January 1, 2009: Standard leaders craft clear, cohesive Standard reports.
January 2, 2009: Standard reports from Standard leaders submission deadline (to Fedock).
January 3 - February 28, 2009: Critical review by Steering Committee of Standards group submissions.
March 1 - August 1, 2009: Editing and publishing of final version of Self Study document.
August 15, 2009: Mail Self Study to NWCCU.
October,
5 - 7, 2009: NWCCU Accreditation visits MSU.

Standard I
February 2008:Select Standard One study team.
March – April 2008:Gather resource documents including required documentation, exhibits and suggested materials.
May – August 2008:Analysis and first draft of Standard One report.
Sept – November 2008:Finish draft of Standard One report.
December 2008:Complete and submit Standard One report to Steering Committee.

March 28Deadline for student affairs team leads to meet with assigned office
March 30Office directors (or designee) begin working on accreditation assignment.

June 19Deadline for team leads to review office reports and request office director (or designee) to "revise and resubmit."
July 10Deadline for 2nd draft of reports to be returned to student affairs team leads.
July 24Deadline for student affairs team leads to complete final edit of reports. Team leads to begin synthe
August 15 Deadline for submission of report to student affairs standard leader. Student affairs standard leader begins to edit report to read "uniformly."
November 15Standard lead to submit Standard III report to VP for Student Affairs for review.
December 1Final edits to Standard III report begins.
December 15Standard III report submitted to for critical review of NWCCU Steering Committee.

Standard 4
Spring 2008:
- Develop work plan (this activity)
- Develop working group (still in progress – you may add Tim McDermott and Sue Monahan as consultants if you feel the need).
- Develop short briefing paper for Faculty Senate, meet with FS March 26.
- Conduct preliminary focus groups with senators and DH's – as test run – by end March
- Schedule additional meetings with Senators & DHs for April.
These last 3 items are designed to develop awareness of the activity as well as gather preliminary impressions of issues to be addressed in discussing Standard IV with the community.
Summer 2008
- Begin statistical evaluation of faculty activities, identify additional data needs and work with Dr. Fastnow
- Develop draft reports on numerically based portions (e.g., years in rank, terminal degrees, etc.)
- Develop survey instrument and test in collaboration with other standards
- Finalize approach to focus groups.
Develop specific recommendations for integrating self-study into ongoing activities.
Fall 2008
- September – conduct web-based survey of faculty
- October – evaluate data, conduct focus groups to fill in gaps
- November – development of Standard IV draft.
Standard 5
March – Have reviewed all available documentation and identify any additional data gathering needed.
April – Identify key points and sections to be included and make writing assignments
May – Review the needed supporting documentation and make assignments
June – Target for a rough draft of report
July – Refine draft and incorporate data from LibQual and other sources
August – Finalize draft self-study for Sept. submission to Steering Committee.
