Dear MSU Community,

Five finalists will visit our campus in early April for our Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost position at Montana State University.  You are invited to a question and answer session / social event for each finalist.  These events will be held at 4:30 pm on April 3, 5, 10, 11 and 12. Locations of these events will be sent on the morning of each campus visit.  To help us estimate the attendance for these events, please RSVP HERE.

Due to the very competitive and sensitive nature of university executive searches, we will be announcing the name of each candidate on the morning of their campus interview, as recommended by our search consultant.  A one page biography will be provided at that time.

Each finalist will participate in a full day of interviews, including with the search committee, a meeting with President Cruzado and meetings with multiple constituent groups.  These groups will be notified in a separate email about the times and locations for their meetings on each interview day.

Here is some additional information about the search process. President Cruzado sent an email to you on November 7, 2016 informing you about the search, including the members appointed to the search committee (see PDF). We then selected Greenwood/Asher & Associates Executive Search to assist us with this important search.  In early December we conducted focus group meetings with numerous stakeholders (including faculty, staff and students) which provided us with valuable information for recruiting the best candidates for Montana State University.  We then posted the position announcement online and began recruiting nationally in early January.  This portion of the process was greatly aided by our search firm who made hundreds of calls on our behalf to potential candidates.

Our recruiting efforts yielded a strong pool of applicants showing great interest in Montana State University.   The search committee worked diligently to narrow that pool to twelve semi-finalists.  Those candidates were interviewed recently and reference checks were performed on the candidates the search committee felt were best suited for MSU.  The end result is our campus invitation to five finalists.

We are excited to spend a full day with each of our finalists and encourage you to participate.
