Careers after MSU

Student Reading

Good career planning should begin sooner rather than later. MSU Career Services believes it is important that you assess and understand your values, interests and personality before selecting a major. Doing so will save you time and money, since you'll likely know your occupation of choice and the corresponding major and/or minor area of study without having to "test the waters" by switching academic programs.

Sound too good to be true?

MSU Career Services offers a variety of programs and services that will assist you in selecting a major that will fit your career and personal goals. The trick is to begin early (like, right now).

So check out the Discover program attached with this link (https://actapps.act.org/eDISCOVER/) and begin your career plan today. While surfing Discover, you'll be able to take three great surveys (or inventories) that give you an idea of potential careers which may be of interest. You can also narrow down career opportunities by telling Discover how much you want to earn, travel, interact with people, advance in an organization, etc.

If you want to use Discover, email careers@montana.edu and we'll send you a token (password) so you can start today (or the next business day). More importantly, know that MSU Career Services is here to help as you plan your career path. Call us anytime (406.994.4353), we'll give you guidance and advice as you look to make your mark in this world. Remember, the best career plans begin sooner, rather than later….
