Native Student Support Services

There are more than 30 support programs for Native American Students at Montana State University.

Engineering Minority Program (EMPower) and Designing Our Community (DOC) (http://www.montana.edu/empower/) (http://www.coe.montana.edu/doc/) For those students interested in majoring in one of the ten degrees offered through the College of Engineering.

Caring for Our Own Program (CO-OP) (http://www.montana.edu/nanurse/) Based out of the College of Nursing, this program is designed to increase enrollment and graduation of Native American nurses.

Native American Studies (www.montana.edu/wwwnas/) Home to the American Indian Council, the NAS department offers a minor is Native American Studies and a Master's in Native American Studies, in addition to scholarships and tutoring services.

TRiO (www.montana.edu/triosss) The TRiO SSS program helps eligibel students succeed in college. The professional staff and faculty involved in the program provide academic support, leadership skills and special instruction.

American Indian Research Opportunities (http://www.montana.edu/wwwai/) A consortium of Montana's seven Tribal Colleges and Montana State University, dedicated to providing opportunities for American Indian students in career fields where they are significantly underrepresented.
