MSU Achievement Awards will be based upon ACT composite scores and/or total SAT scores (Math, Critical Reading and Writing). MSU will always take the highest score, whether it be ACT or SAT, that is sent from the official testing company.
Due to the College Board implementing a new SAT test on March 5, 2016, MSU will NOT accept SAT scores for fall 2016 scholarship purposes from tests taken AFTER January 23, 2016. Students may still take ACT tests throughout the spring of 2016 if they hope to increase their Achievement Award.
For more information on MSU’s Presidential Scholarship, which provides annual tuition waivers and generous stipends for four years, go to http://www.montana.edu/honors. The application deadline is December 4, 2015.
Students may also be eligible for admission to the University Honors College (firstname.lastname@example.org). We encourage you to consider applying to this excellent academic College. For an application form click here.
If you are awarded a renewable Achievement or WUE Award, you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater, enroll for a minimum of 15 credits a semester, and maintain non-resident status and continuous enrollment to retain the award throughout your four years at MSU. MSU freshman scholarships and awards are available to those seeking undergraduate bachelor degree programs only.
MSU aims to make a college education affordable. Be sure to file your FAFSA by March 1, 2016 to be considered for federal grants, work-study, and student and parent loans, so that we can best meet your financial needs. Need and non-need based aid programs are available. Filing the FAFSA by this date will give you priority consideration for all financial assistance programs at Montana State University. Our MSU school code is 002532. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov.
As a condition of acceptance for any freshmen award, students must submit a Residence Hall Application as soon as possible. Students who have not already applied for housing, may download a housing application from the Residence Hall website at: http://www.montana.edu/reslife/. Exceptions to this rule may be made by contacting the Office of Residence Life.
