Resident Fall 2008 Freshman Scholarships
Our expanded program for fall '08 will provide more money to more Montana freshmen!

Montana State University will offer millions of dollars in scholarships to talented resident freshmen who apply for admission for the fall of 2008. To be eligible, you must complete the following as soon as possible:

  1. Apply for admission to Montana State University. You'll find an application in the MSU Viewbook or you can apply online at https://apply.embark.com/ugrad/montanastate/. Be sure to include your self reported GPA on the Self Report Form.
  2. Have your official ACT and/or SAT test scores sent to Montana State University directly from the testing company.

It is essential to apply for admission and have your ACT and/or SAT test scores sent to Montana State University as soon as possible. These scholarships will only be available until February 15th.

If you qualify, these scholarships will be automatically awarded when we have received your application (along with self reported GPA), ACT and/or SAT test scores and you have been admitted. Here is what you may qualify for:

30 to 32 1320 to 1440 * $8,000 University Scholarship ($2,000 per year renewable for 4 years)

27 to 29 1200 to 1310 * $2,000 University Scholarship (one time award)

25 to 26 1130 to 1190 * $1,000 University Scholarship (one time award)
             AND
3.5 or greater cumulative grade point average

23 to 24 1050 to 1120 * $500 University Scholarship (one time award)
             AND
3.5 or greater cumulative grade point average

*For Fall 2008 MSU University Scholarships, the total SAT will consist of the Math and Verbal scores on tests taken prior to March 2005. For tests taken after March 2005, the total SAT will be calculated using the Math and Critical Reading scores only.

For more information on MSU’s Presidential Scholarship which provides annual tuition waivers and generous stipends for four years go to http://www.montana.edu/honors/. The application deadline is January 11th, 2008.

All University Scholarships are designated for ‘tuition’ only. If you are awarded a renewable University Scholarship, you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater and maintain full time, resident status and continuous enrollment to retain the award throughout your 4 years at MSU.
