Resident Fall 2010 Transfer Scholarships

Montana State University will offer a limited number of scholarships and awards to talented transfer students who apply for admission for the fall of 2010.** Many scholarships will be awarded through the new MSU Premier Scholarship Program. These awards will be targeted toward Resident Transfer students who show academic promise based upon ACT and/or SAT scores and transfer grade point average. Leadership experience, activities, honors and financial need may also be considered. These awards will be applied toward tuition only.

To be eligible, you must complete the following as soon as possible:

You’ll find an application in the MSU Viewbook or you can apply online at https://apply.embark.com/ugrad/montanastate/.
  2. Have transcripts of all college-level work you have completed sent to MSU. For scholarship purposes, the transcript(s) need not be official, but may be subject to verification.
  3. Have your official ACT and/or SAT test scores sent to Montana State University directly from the testing company. The ACT MSU school code is 2420. The SAT MSU school code is 4488.

Apply early! We strive to provide awards to qualified applicants. However, resources are limited. These scholarships will only be available for a limited time.

Montana Premier Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail. Scholarship award notifications will begin in the fall and continue until all funds are awarded.

All Premier Scholarships are designated for tuition only. If you are awarded a renewable Premier Scholarship, you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater and maintain full-time, resident status for the year in which you receive the scholarship.

MSU aims to make a college education affordable for all Montana residents. Be sure to file your FAFSA by March 1, 2010 , to apply for federal and state grants, work-study, and student and parent loans, so that we can best meet your financial needs. Need and non-need based aid programs are available. Filing the FAFSA by this date will give you priority consideration for all financial assistance programs at Montana State University.

*For Fall 2010, MSU Premier Scholarships will be based upon ACT composite scores and/or total SAT scores (Math, Critical Reading and Writing). If you took the SAT prior to March 2005 and only have Math and Verbal scores, please contact MSU Admissions.

** These awards are only available to students who are working on their first undergraduate degree.

These awards are not available to new students transferring into the professional programs in Film and Photography or Architecture (Environmental Design).
