Seek information and make recommendations concerning priorities and programs, new or existing, as these relate to the role and scope of the University. Recommend guidelines for evaluation of overall university performance.

Membership
Voting Members: Twelve representatives from the MSU campus, including one student, one classified, and one professional employee.

Nonvoting Members: One representative of the community.

Nonvoting Ex Officio Members: Vice President for Research; Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Length of Term
Members elected by University Governance Council serve three year, staggered terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms. The President's appointees, the classified employee, and the student serve annual terms.

Appointed By
Five faculty members are elected by Faculty Council; one professional is elected by Professional Council; four members are appointed by the President; one classified representative is elected by CEPAC, and ASMSU appoints the student representative.

Advisory To
President and University Governance Council

Reports Due
One oral report per academic term and one annual written report. The oral report is given at a regularly scheduled University Governance Council meeting when the administration can attend and participate with the faculty in discussion of the report. The annual written report is discussed at a special University Governance Council meeting devoted to this purpose.
