Faculty Salary Floors
Salary floors were instituted at Montana State University for the 1989-90 fiscal year, immediately following a two-year salary freeze. The floors apply to all tenurable faculty, and all faculty hired into tenurable positions must receive a salary at least as high as the floor salary for the appropriate rank.
When floors are raised, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs provides funds to raise the salaries of all faculty affected by the increase to the new salary floors.
