Up to 12 tribal college students selected at the end of February from the seven partner tribal colleges take part in a summer research experience at MSU to help with their transition to a four-year institution. The experience consists of four parts:

  • Math "Bootcamp" course with tuition and materials provided by the program.
  • One-week intensive training in science research lab protocol and practices.
  • MSU research laboratory experience under the mentorship of a faculty mentor and/or MSU lab assistants, 4 hrs./day.
  • Study skills seminar to reinforce study skills classes provided at tribal colleges and to introduce students to the university's resources.
