Red Lodge Clay Center
March 31st - April 11th.
Featuring works from long term residents currently working at the Red Lodge Clay Center. Koral Halperin's sculptures are constructed using coils, allowing her work to grow intuitively. Her investigation of form and color grants unexpected possibilites and piques curiosity. Perry Haas's current work is a series of large-scale platters that express movement horizontally across the surface and come from a geological approach, resembling the folds in the earth's crust. The series is firebox-driven which allows the kiln to take control of the final result. Ryan Matthwe Mitchell is largely improvisational in process which allows the use of all sorts of imagery and phenomena. The result is various works with fragmented bits of undeveloped though, concepts laid atop one another.
