Major: Organismal Biology
Liaison to ASMSU: Exponent and Leadership Inst.
Organizational affiliations: Leadership Institute, Triathlon Club
About CJ: First off I would like to thank everyone for the opportunity to represent you this year! I am excited to see all the things that we can accomplish this year to better the students of MSU.
I have been involved in many different leadership roles at MSU, these positions include RHA, Orientation Leader, Peer Advising, Student Assisting, an officer of the triathlon club, and lastly TAing for the Leadership foundations course. Through the leadership roles I have participated in at MSU I have gained and flourished within many areas such as public speaking, dialogue, and active listening. I feel like I am capable of using these acquired skills to be a voice for the student body.
I enjoy everything Bozeman has to offer, such as skiing, hiking, biking, etc. I am very hard working and driven and hope to accomplish many things this year during my term as your At-Large senator. Some things I would like to see happen this year include: Having the Leadership Institute implement leadership forums that would teach students practical leadership skills that they can contribute to the workforce after they finish at MSU. The other big project that I want to get behind is creating a formal director position for Club Sports, helping make the processes of starting a Club Sport more streamlined. I believe student engagement through club sports is an essential part of creating more social sustainability within our growing university.
