Position Title: Campus Entertainment Director
Description: The Campus Entertainment Director is the “Team Leader” along with 2 Campus Entertainment Associates working together with Productions to bring entertaining events such as concerts and comedians to campus for students. This includes negotiating contracts, venues, and motel arrangements for artists and managing and providing day-of-show requirements. The Director is responsible for managing a budget and presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board and the ASMSU Senate. The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 20
Pay: $687/month
Length of Employment: 8-9 months

 

 

Position Title: Arts & Exhibits Director
Description:  The ASMSU Arts and Exhibits Director is responsible for showcasing visual art exhibits in the areas of graphic design, sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, drawing and any other media by locally, regionally, and nationally known artists. The Director hires and supervises student gallery sitters and works with other program Directors to plan events. The Arts and Exhibits program also sponsors lectures, exhibits, and performances by visiting artists. The Director is responsible for managing a budget and presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board as well as to the ASMSU Senate. The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 15
Pay: $687/month
Length of Employment: 8 months

 

Position Title: Productions Director
Description: The Productions Director is responsible for lighting and audio equipment setup, layout, and implementation of ASMSU events, and being the “Team Leader” of a small group of student workers. Knowledge and experience with audio and lighting products including live audio mixing is highly preferred. The Director is responsible for managing a budget and presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board and the ASMSU Senate. The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 20
Pay: $525/month
Length of Employment: 8 months

 

Position Title: Public Relations Director
Description: The PR Director is the “Team Leader” of the ASMSU Public Relations team which directs marketing and advertising efforts designed to make MSU students aware of all the services and programs ASMSU provides for them. The Director is responsible for managing a budget and presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board, as well as to the ASMSU Senate. The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 20
Pay: $687/month
Length of Employment: 8 months

 

Position Title: Graphic Designer
Description: ASMSU’s graphic designer works as a member of the Public Relations department. This position provides strategic design to appropriately convey ASMSU’s branding for a wide variety of subjects. The designer’s knowledge should include a great understanding of typography, advanced copy writing ability, and a strong comprehension of the Adobe Creative Suite. While these skills are invaluable, the most important aspect of a valuable designer is the ability to generate original  and influential ideas. Each project presented to the designer may be advertised through media other than print, so all avenues of advertising should be considered for every design issue presented. A vital designer should generate concepts that will make each ASMSU event as significant and memorable as the last.
Hours per Week: 15-20                                                                                                           
Pay: $525/month
Length of Employment: 9 months

 


Position Title: Streamline Latenight Director
Description: The Latenight Director is the "Team Leader" of the Latenight bus attendants. The Director hires, trains, schedules and manages a team of approximately six attendants. Helps plan and develop new bus routes.  Responsible for planning and executing a Latenight publicity campaign with the goal of increasing ridership, attending monthly DUI Task Force Meetings, and  serving as a voting member at the monthly Streamline Board Meetings.  The Latenight Director is also responsible for invoicing Streamline and keeping in contact with drivers, attendants, and other Streamline personnel to ensure the system runs safely and efficiently.  The Latenight Director will be responsible for managing a budget and  presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board as well as to the ASMSU Senate.   The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 20
Pay: $687/month
Length of Employment: 12 months

 


Position Title: State Political Action Director
Description: The State Political Action Director serves as a liaison for the MSU student body to local governing bodies and the state legislature and state governmental offices. The State Political Action Director creatively utilizes programming and events to promote civic engagement, inform MSU’s student constituency, and affect local legislation relevant to the MSU student body. The State Political Action Director serves as the ASMSU Student Lobbyist during legislative years.
Hours per Week: An average of 10 hours per week during fall semester when the State Legislature is not in session. An average of 40 hours per week in Helena during spring when the State Legislature  is in session.
Pay: $2,800 for fall semester when the State Legislature is not in session and $5,500 Lobbyist Stipend in the spring when the State Legislature is in session.
Length of Employment: This is a one year position and all applicants should have one year  left as an MSU student in order to apply for the position. 

 

Position Title: Local Government Liaison
Description: The Local Government Liaison attends Bozeman City Council meetings, Inter-neighborhood Council meetings, and Good Neighbor Committee meetings to keep track of what's happening in the City of Bozeman municipal government. This individual will work with ASMSU Legal Services to advocate for renters’ rights and educate students on how to rent responsibly and safely in the Bozeman community. Additionally, this individual will be tasked with the creation and implementation of programs that educate students on what it means to be a "Good Neighbor" in the Bozeman community. Individuals who apply for this position must have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and be a team player. While not required, event planning and experience in political organizing is highly recommended.
Hours per Week: 10
Pay: $350/month

Position Title: Films Director
Description: The Films Director is the "Team Leader" of the Procrastinator staff. The Director oversees the day- to-day operations of the SUB Procrastinator Theater dealing with screening, billing, advertising, and employee management. The Director must maintain proper communication within the ASMSU organization and externally,  primarily with film distributors. The Films Director must strive to provide high quality film entertainment to a broad MSU community audience. The Director will be responsible for managing a budget and presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board as well as to the ASMSU Senate. The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 20
Pay: $687/month
Length of Employment: 8 months

 


Position Title: Spirit Director
Description: The ASMSU Spirit Director's responsibility is to encourage an MSU campus community culture by planning and organizing events for MSU students such as Homecoming, which includes organizing the Homecoming candidates, Homecoming BBQ, the Homecoming parade etc., Cat/Griz events, and the Orientation Block Party the week before school begins. The Director will be responsible for overseeing one employee, managing a budget, and presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board as well as to the ASMSU Senate. The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 10-20 hours per week depending on timing of events. 
Pay: $525/month
Length of Employment: 8 months

 

Position Title: Elections Director
Description: The Elections Director is responsible for ASMSU elections during Fall semester for Homecoming King and Queen candidates and during the Spring semester for ASMSU President/Vice President, all 21 Student Senators,  and any student fee ballot issues. The Director advertises the Senate seats that are available, organizes Presidential debates and coordinates with ITC to create the ballot. The Director will be responsible for managing a budget and presenting it to the ASMSU Finance Board as well as to the ASMSU Senate. The Director will also be required to attend monthly ASMSU Roundtable meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with ASMSU as a whole entity.
Hours per Week: 10
Pay: $350/month
Length of Employment: 8 months

 

Position Title: Business Manager
Description: This is a business and administrative position supporting the business operations of ASMSU. The Business Manager holds a minimum of 6 office hours per week and works closely with the ASMSU Operations Manager to create and present the Administration budget during ASMSU spring budgeting, prepares and presents the overall ASMSU budget with the assistance of Operations Manager, gives quarterly reports to Senate at a regular Senate meeting on each program, and tracks and records yearly inventory of all ASMSU programs. Additional duties include making weekly deposits, reconciling, tracking hours worked by program Directors, create invoices, and attend weekly Administrative, Executive, Finance Board, and Senate meetings. Experience in business/accounting preferred.
Hours per Week: 15
Pay: $525/month
