Searches for person records have changed in Banner 8, as noted in announcements and documentation. If you have an SSN you can enter it into the ID field for auto-population of the GID. If you get no response, then the SSN is not in Banner. In that case, simply do a person search as you did in the previous version. Changing the search function in this way protects our data from exposure of PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and is an important safeguard against identity theft.

Reports and applications created ad hoc across the campuses that connect to Banner data, such as Access databases or Crystal reports, need to be updated by their developers in conjunction with the Banner upgrade. The Banner team has no way of knowing about these ad hoc applications, who developed them, or who uses them now. The communications team is attempting to locate them by broadcasting the need for report and application upgrades to any potential users and let them know they need to contact their report/application developers and direct them to the documentation provided to update the ad hoc systems.
