Mission Statement of the National SAAC

The mission of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Student-Athlete Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.

Goals of the MSU-SAAC

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is composed of student-athlete representatives from every team. The forum provides an occasion for members to voice their concerns on a wide range of issues that are important to all student-athletes. Through their participation, SAAC members are afforded many responsibilities and opportunities, such as:

  • promote communication between athletics administration and student-athletes
  • provide a voice for student-athletes
  • encourage participation in community projects and campus organizations
  • promote special events for student-athletes
  • communicate information to teammates
  • participate in opportunities to enhance leadership skills
  • promote a positive student-athlete image
