Annual Faculty Awards Announced in May

In 2015, ten professors received honors, based on outstanding performances in teaching, research and service. Some of the awards, provided through endowment programs, give faculty members financial resources for scholarly and pedagogical development.

Graham Austin, associate professor of marketing, received the Thomas Nopper Excellence in Teaching Award. This award is given annually to a faculty member who has made significant contributions to the teaching mission of the College.

Agnieska Kwapisz, assistant professor of management, received the Harold and Reta Haynes Faculty Fellow Award. This award is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated sustained excellence in all phases of faculty performance related to teaching, research, and service.

Angela Woodland, associate professor of accounting, received the Scott and Barbara Heck Faculty Scholar Award. This award supports the recipient’s outstanding teaching performance and fosters the sharing of educational experiences with students.

Jerry Carvalho, associate teaching professor of management, was this year’s recipient for the Joe and Sharlene Loendorf Excellence in Teaching Award. This award is given annually to a faculty member who has made an impact through successful teaching and student mentoring.

Amber Raile, assistant professor of management, was this year’s recipient for the Carstensen Haferman Excellence in Teaching Award.

Tim Alzheimer, associate teaching professor of finance, was this year’s recipient for the PRIDE Code of Excellence Award. This award is given annually to a faculty or staff member who has best exemplified the PRIDE Code of Excellence.

JJCBE colleagues selected the following faculty members for special performance recognition awards:
· Dean’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Research: Ed Gamble, assistant professor of accounting
· Dean’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Service: Anne Christensen, professor of accounting
· Dean’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching: Brent Rosso, assistant professor of management

The senior business students voted on the, the JJCBE’s most prestigious faculty award, the Gary K. Bracken Student’s Choice for Excellence in Teaching, selecting Brent Rosso, assistant professor of management for this honor.
