2003 Starzen Internship

2003 Starzen Internship

Here's an opportunity worth checking into! Applications for two internships with the Tokyo based Starzen Company are now being accepted. This program features an intensive four week study in Japan. The internship will familiarize the intern with Japanese culture, business practices and the operations of the firm. The students selected will earn internship credits.

Eligibility requirements are: formal admission to the College of Business by June 2003; a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater; enrollment at MSU the semester immediately following the internship; completion of the Japanese language courses prior to the internship. Further evaluation will include academic achievement, maturity and motivation to learn from the experience.

Students will receive housing at a company dormitory, transportation fees and a daily food allowance.

Here's what last year's Starzen Internship winner Kathy Laubach has to say about the program: "Thanks to the generous hospitality and leadership of Starzen, my summer internship gave me an introduction to the unique and changing business practices in Japan, as well as an awareness of company-specific concerns related to both domestic and international business."

"Through new relationships developed with Starzen employees, I was able to get an in-depth look at the culture through a variety of venues ranging from seeing a traditional Kabuki theatre production and a professional baseball game in the center of metropolis Tokyo, to being treated to the most incredible meals and beautiful views of Mt. Fuji."
