March 6th, 2009

The fifth annual Montana State University College of Business Entrepreneur Day will take place from 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the MSU Strand Union ballrooms B and C.

The MSU College of Business (CoB) hosts this free event as part of its commitment to enhance entrepreneurial spirit and education in the region, as well as helping improve the state’s economic development.

The morning sessions are designed for high school or transfer students interested in the entrepreneurship program. CoB faculty and current entrepreneur program students will facilitate a group workshop that simulates COB entrepreneurial and management classroom experiences.

Lunch will be provided for the morning session participants, where they will also have the opportunity to interact with young entrepreneurs who received their college education through the CoB entrepreneur program. Campus tours and an informational meeting with the Associate Dean of the College of Business can be arranged either before or after the event.

Cloe Medina Erickson will give the keynote presentation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., concluding with a Q&A session. This session is open to the public. Erickson will talk about her experiences as co-founder, with her husband, Kristoffer Erickson, of Erickson Creative Group (ECG). ECG’s work is primarily focused on the disciplines of architecture and historic preservation, photography, film and world exploration. They have collaborated with corporations, non-profits, and individuals all around the world including Architecture for Humanity, Global Giving, the Himalayan Cataract Project, the Montana Preservation Alliance and the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation.

Erickson holds a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental Design from MSU. She started an architecture consulting business after graduation, which gave her the flexibility to pursue another interest, the Arabic language. She is fluent in Modern Standard Arabic and combines her traditional architectural training with her passion for foreign cultures to develop unique projects many focused on restoration and community development projects.
