Businesses from Bozeman, Great Falls, Miles City, Ronan and Three Forks are winners of the 2011 Montana Family Business awards.

The businesses, which range in size from fewer than 10 employees to more than 50, will receive their awards at the 2011 Montana State University College of Business State Farm Insurance Family Business Day, set for Friday, October 7, at the Holiday Inn in Bozeman.

The 2011 top family businesses in Montana are: Frieling Ag Equipment of Great Falls in the very small business category (fewer than 10 employees); Don Aadsen Ford of Ronan in the small business category (10 to 30 employees); Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City in the medium business category (30-50 employees); Billion Auto Group of Bozeman in the large business category (more than 50 employees); Montana Monster Munchies, LLC of Bozeman in the new business category (operating 10 years or less); Harrington’s Bottling Company of Bozeman in the old business category (at least 50 years); and Headwaters Seat Covers of Three Forks with a special recognition award.

Gerald Carisch, CEO of Carisch, Inc. will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon held prior to the awards ceremony at 11:30 am. Carisch’s presentation, “The Successes and Failures of a Family Business,” will draw from his family business experiences. Carisch, Inc. has owned and operated 95 movie theaters, ARCO (a medical transcription company), retail and office buildings in Minnesota and 85 Arby’s.

A $20 registration is required to attend the keynote luncheon and awards ceremony.

The Montana Family Business program is in its 18th year. The MSU College of Business and State Farm Insurance, in honor of Robert Jaedicke, host the program. Stockman Bank underwrote the awards, with additional support for the program provided by the Montana Chamber of Commerce.
