event poster titled Propel your BusinessMike Reilly, professor emeritus in marketing, and Craig Ehlert, adjunct instructor in management at Montana State University’s College of Business (CoB), will be speaking at the Compete Smart Manufacturing Conference in Missoula at the Hilton Garden Inn, hosted by the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center on Thursday, October 11.

Reilly, recently retired after teaching marketing for the CoB, will be the featured keynote for the conference. He will present, “Ready for Advances in [Marketing] Payload Delivery Technology? How the Cruise Missile in Marketing Outperforms Saturation Bombing,”from 12:00-1:45 p.m. His presentation will focus on marketing’s enduring principles, combined with targeted information age tools, and how they reach “Homo Digitus”, the digital man.

Ehlert, who is also the director of the Family Business Program, will present “Winning Montana Family Business” at 4:10-5:40 p.m. Ehlert will examine and discuss the characteristics that have skyrocketed manufacturing success for Family Business Program award winners across the state and how these businesses stack up to national excellence standards, as well as discuss how these characteristics compare to national excellence standards. Participants will learn about helpful resources for their businesses.
