Freeze drying is an important process in sample preparation and the preservation and storage of biologicals, pharmaceuticals, and foods. In the FreeZone System's lyophilizing process, water or other solvent is removed from frozen material by converting the frozen water directly into vapor without the intermediate formation of liquid water. The lyophilization is a very useful technique for substances that are heat-sensitive. The lyophilizer has 10-port chambers that can hold simultaneously up to 4.5-liter frozen samples and can dry up to 2-liter samples in a day (24 hours).
