Renne Library

Handicapped accessible

First constructed in 1949, a large addition was built in 1961 to accommodate more than half a million volumes. The name honors MSU's sixth president, Roland Renne, 1943-64.

The Presidential Medallion is displayed on the first floor landing. It was handcrafted in silver, gold and Montana sapphires by Richard Helzer, MSU art faculty, in 1991 for the inauguration of MSU's tenth president, Michael Malone.

The Special Collections on the second floor hold documents and memorabilia from the career of Montana's distinguished United States Senator, Burton K. Wheeler, 1923-47. The room also contains the Yellowstone National Park Collection. Visitors are welcome to view these collections Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Look for building 45 on our campus map.
