Information to assist you in making decisions about careers:

To take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Strong Interest Inventory (profile or college report available) go to http://online.cpp-db.com/. Please note:  There is a fee for taking either self-assessment instrument.  For more information, please call Career, Internship & Student Employment Services at 406-994-4353.

Results are available only through Career, Internship & Student Employment Services.  Please make an appointment to meet with a counselor for an interpretation of your report.  Call 406-994-4353 or email careers@montana.edu

The first step involves doing a self-assessment. Some tools are available for you on-line, as well as some information on completing this step. Once you have begun to look at yourself in terms of your personal interests, values, job-related skills or abilities, and your personality, you have information that will help you prepare a list of careers that may be satisfying for you.

The next step in the process is obtaining information.  Before making a decision, check for information that will help you look at many aspects of careers on your list. This will help you make a decision that is right for you.

Another source of information for those who have taken the Strong Interest Inventory is a list of occupations that match your identified and confirmed interests.  Look at MSU Occupations Finder.

Occupational Outlook Handbook: the most current information on occupations available through the Internet.
