Summer Session

Summer Session at MSU offers a variety of exciting classroom, outdoor, and online opportunities for a diverse audience. We plan Summer Session for those who want to get a jump start on college, continue making progress on undergraduate degree programs, work on a graduate degree, or even take classes while still in high school.

If you’re a continuing student who plans to leave Bozeman in May—or if you’ll be staying but working for the summer—you can continue your studies uninterrupted by enrolling in one or more online courses.  Summer online offerings are diverse, ranging from art, English and history to business, computer science and statistics.  New freshmen planning to begin studying at MSU in the fall may want to get a head start on their course requirements during the summer by enrolling in one of several core courses available online.

When you’re not in class, you’ll want to explore the activities in and around Bozeman.  Summer brings special cultural events to the city such as Shakespeare in the Parks performances and the Sweet Pea Festival, a celebration of the arts.  Outdoor enthusiasts will find their taste for adventure satisfied as well: surrounded by mountains, the pristine area is rich with opportunities for hiking and backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, river rafting, and fly fishing.

With all that the area has to offer, plus the stimulating atmosphere at MSU, it's the ideal location to spend your summer!
