Checking In At Catapalooza

OFF-Campus Vendors ONLY:

All Catapalooza participants are required to check in at the Registration Tent on the days indicated below.  The Registration table will be located in the Roberts Parking Lot, north of Roberts Hall, and indicated on this map: Click here to see a map of the MSU campus

Check-in and transport of tabling items to your booth location is on Wednesday, August 20; 1:00pm – 6:00pm in the Roberts Circle.

You do not need to check in on Thursday, August 21 or Friday, August 22 as your booth assignment will remain the same for both days.

You will receive your booth location upon check in
You may drive directly up to the registration area to unload any display and promotional items.  Since there are over 200 people checking in during this time frame, we ask that you unload quickly and remain with your car at all times.  We will have a limited number of volunteers available to assist you in moving your things to your booth area.

Parking
Parking over this two day period will be free, however, restrictions apply!  Should you choose to park in the pay parking lot, you will be charges $7.50/daily.  Vehicles parked in unauthorized areas will be ticketed and possibly towed. We strongly encourage the use of alternative transportation, such as car-pooling, public transportation, or being dropped off by a driver who will not be parking at MSU.

Set-Up
Set-up for off-campus vendors begins at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, and Catapalooza runs on Thursday and Friday from 10:00am – 3:00pm.  Please plan to keep your booth area staffed for the two day duration of Catapalooza.  As off-campus vendors, you will need to bring your own table and chairs for your area.  Please consider bringing a dolly to help move your display and promotional products to your booth area; we will also have a few available for use on Wednesday afternoon during check-in.

IMPORTANT:
If you plan on setting up tents, canopies, umbrellas, or display items, please note that you WILL NOT be able to stake anything into the lawn.  We ask that you bring cinder blocks, milk jugs filled with water, or sandbags to secure your area.  WE ARE NOT able to provide any items to help you stake your tents.
We provide night-time security if you wish to leave your display at MSU overnight, however, please know that we are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items, or tents that blow down.

Serving Food
To provide any food or beverage at your booth, you were required, at the time of your registration, to complete a Temporary Event Vendor Application.  The vendor application is required for all beverages and food service at Catapalooza, including prepackaged candy, food, and beverages.
If you did not indicate your intentions to serve food or beverages when you registered, you will NOT permitted to do so at this two day event– no exceptions.

Conducting Business
We request and will enforce that vendors DO NOT sell goods or services (no exchange of money) at Catapalooza.  Instead, be prepared to distribute coupons, hand-outs, freebees, company contact information, etc. to promote your company or organization.  You may have students complete a sign in sheet expressing interest in getting more information from you about your organization, but this must be voluntary.

Other Considerations
Catapalooza is an outdoor event.  Please plan on being outside for two days and arrive prepared for all weather!  Plan on bringing water, sunblock, a shade source (such as an umbrella or canopy) paperweights, and a jacket or rain gear.
Will you be offering to add interested parties to your mailing list?  Please have sign-in sheets prepared and printed in advance.  Also, please bring extra pens and pencils, business cards, and information pamphlets.

ON-CAMPUS Vendors ONLY:

Set-Up

If you were not among the first 90 on-campus organizations to register, then you must plan to bring your own table and chairs.  An email was sent on August 11 to the first 90 on-campus registrants indicating that they will be receiving a table and chairs courtesy of Catapalooza and these items will be in place at your booth space by Thursday morning. Consider bringing a dolly to help move your display and promotional products to your booth area; we will also have a few available for use on Thursday morning during check-in.
