Thomas was raised by Peter and Dominique in Oak Park, Illinois. He was coached at Oak Park and River Forest High School by Tim Gamble to jump 14'9". Tom's little brother is also interested in the vault and jumped 14' last year. In the future, he would like to become an architect and ultimately design himself a house. Aside from track and architecture, Tom likes biking, sketching, and pottery.
