Information
MSU is a land grant university with a student body of 12,250 and 500 faculty members. The Department of Education is one of the larger departments on campus, serving 850 undergraduates in Teacher Education and 250 graduate students in C&I, Educational Leadership, and Adult and Higher Education. The campus is located amidst the beautiful mountains of southwest Montana, 90 mile north of Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman (city population 30,000 & greater area population of 71,200) is a terrific place to live and work. It is characterized by dramatic scenery, a high standard of living, a friendly, small-town atmosphere, and state-of-the-art public schools.
 
Duties and
Responsibilities
Please Note: This is NOT a computer position! The Technology Education program at MSU serves approximately sixty students. These students are enrolled in the Broadfield Teaching Option or the Industrial Technology non-teaching option. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses related to Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation Technologies and a general survey course in Technology and Society.

Additional duties include the academic advising of undergraduate TE majors as well as, master's and doctoral students. The individual will chair and serve on both master's and doctoral committees; conduct research and publish in appropriate sources; supervise field experiences; provide service to the department, college, university, and the field.

 
Required
Qualifications
1.     Earned doctorate in Technology Education, Industrial Education, or related discipline.
 
2. Evidence of scholarly ability.
 
3. Experience/extensive knowledge base in appropriate industrial areas including Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation.
 
Preferred
Qualifications
1.     Experience teaching Technology Education at the secondary level.
 
2. Experience teaching in the following course related areas: A. Materials and Processes B. Industrial Safety and Machining C. Technology and Society D. Manufacturing/Mass Production (including CAD/CAM principles).
 
3. Experience supervising student teachers and interns.
 
4. Experience in writing grant/research proposals.
 
5. Experience with external constituents related to technology Education (ITEA, CTTE, etc.) including student recruitment.
 
6. Experience working with student organizations related to technology Education (TSA, TECA, etc.).
 
7. Experience in e-learning principles using platforms such as WebCT, Blackboard, E-College, etc., for delivery of course work.

Candidate Will
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to work effectively with diverse groups, demonstrate enthusiasm for working closely with public schools; and demonstrate potential ability to secure extraneous finding.
