The College of Nursing is the oldest state institution offering nursing education in Montana and the only Montana institution offering a master of nursing degree. The MSU College of Nursing, accredited by CCNE, has been educating nursing students since 1937. The baccalaureate program is offered on four campuses throughout the state: Bozeman, Billings, Great Falls, and Missoula with an additional site in Kalispell. Unique opportunities exist within both the undergraduate and graduate programs to recruit and work with Native American students and their communities. Students access graduate courses through teleconference, web-based courses, and interactive video. The College's graduate degree program currently focuses on the preparation of family nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists with an adult acute and chronic care option. The College has been nationally recognized in the areas of rural nursing practice, theory development, research, and preparation of health care providers to serve rural states.
