Information
The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (M&IE) invites applications and nominations for one or more expected visiting positions in Industrial Engineering. The M&IE Department offers ABET accredited BS degrees in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology. Graduate offerings include MS degrees in Industrial & Management Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in Engineering with options in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. The Department is strong in the traditional areas of each discipline, with substantial laboratory facilities supporting instructional and research missions. The M&IE Department also has strong affiliations with the Western Transportation Institute and the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center.

Montana State University (MSU) is located in the majestic Rocky Mountains of Southwestern Montana, situated between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. MSU is a Carnegie Category 1 (very high research) university, one of 94 in the nation. Duties and
Responsibilities
Visiting professors will be expected to teach courses in one or more of the following areas:

** computer integrated manufacturing ** applied statistics ** quality assurance ** design of experiments ** facilities planning and material handling systems design ** project management ** operations research ** healthcare engineering

Visiting professors will be expected to develop collaborative relations with MSU faculty and advance the knowledge mission of the Department. In particular, we seek individuals who can help us establish a healthcare extension program. Other duties may be assigned based upon candidate qualifications, interests, and programmatic needs. The term of the appointment is up to 12 months.

Qualifications
1.     Earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering or closely related field.
 
Preferred
Qualifications
1.     Demonstrated ability to build partnerships or interdisciplinary programs.
 
2. Demonstrated ability to teach courses in one or more of the areas listed under Duties and Responsibilities.
 
3. Potential for research collaboration with current Industrial Engineering faculty members or with one or more Department, College, and/or University research enterprises.
 
4. Demonstrated experience in healthcare operations improvement or closely related area.
