Information
Montana State University, situated in the beautiful Gallatin Valley, is a research intensive, land grant university of approximately 12,000 students. MSU offers over 100 degree options (baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral) through seven academic colleges. The College of Nursing offers baccalaureate education at five sites: Bozeman, Billings, Great Falls, Missoula, and Kalispell (an outreach of Missoula). The master s program is distance delivered and offers options for Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Leader. In addition, a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner option is being developed. The College of Nursing offers a research supportive environment in which tenure track faculty focus on projects of relevance to health care in rural and isolated areas. The College has been nationally recognized for its work in rural nursing practice, theory development and research, and the preparation of health care providers to serve rural areas. The CO-OP program, a project to recruit and retain Native American students in nursing, is a national model for such work.
 
Duties and
Responsibilities
The College of Nursing is seeking researchers and educators to assume tenure track positions beginning fall semester of the 2009-2010 academic year for an opening in Great Falls (focus on adult health). Faculty members have opportunities to teach in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. Tenure track faculty members are expected to establish a focused program of research and to successfully seek extramural funding. All members of the faculty are expected to engage in professional/college/university service and to provide nursing leadership in Montana and beyond through active participation in professional nursing organizations.
 
Required
Qualifications
1.     Doctorate in nursing or related field (ABD considered) with at least one graduate degree in nursing.
 
2. Demonstrated potential for excellence in research/scholarship.
 
3. Eligibility for RN licensure in Montana.
 
Preferred
Qualifications
1.     Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
 
2. Experience with distance delivery.
 
3. Eligibility for CNS licensure in Montana.
