Departmental Information |
The Department of Psychology at Montana State University is a
vigorous, research-active department with strong
interdisciplinary collaborations. The department currently has
seven tenure-track faculty lines and an additional four adjunct
faculty lines. Faculty interests are in cognitive psychology,
health psychology, social psychology, and behavioral
neuroscience. The department has a research-oriented M.S. program
that funds students who serve in a research apprenticeship role
under the supervision of a faculty member. For a complete

Montana State University is a land grant university of seven colleges and a graduate school located in Bozeman Montana. Total enrollment of 13,500 students includes about 1,000 graduate students. Research funding is approximately $100 million per year. Bozeman is a community of approximately 30,000 located in a mountain valley 90 miles north of Yellowstone. We enjoy year-round cultural and recreational activities including the Bozeman Symphony; Montana Ballet Co.; Museum of the Rockies; blue ribbon trout streams; Bridger Bowl, Moonlight Basin, and Big Sky ski areas; and five golf courses. Bozeman has excellent schools, airport and medical services comparable to those found in much larger communities. Colorado College ranked Bozeman as the healthiest place to live in the Rocky Mountains and gave the area top scores in livability, vibrancy, and vitality. Duties and Responsibilities |
Serve as Department Chair, which includes supervision and mentoring of faculty and staff; representing and advocating for the department in the college and university; communicating between faculty and administration; guiding the department in strategic planning; managing departmental budgets; coordinating teaching assignments and schedules; program assessment. Maintain an active research program and teach a reduced load of undergraduate/graduate courses. | ||||||||||
