Finance Club is a student-run organization, within the CoB. There are four officers of the Club including President, VP-Speakers, VP-Events, and VP-Marketing. Club members meet about every other week. Meetings typically involve guest speakers. The Club selects its guest speakers from the local, regional, and national business community, the College of Business alumni base, and the University faculty. The list of topics includes alternative investing, market and economic analysis, the mutual fund industry, careers in the banking industry, and preparing for job interviews.
The Club has volunteered its services to help raise funds for itself and for charitable causes. Typical activities include sponsoring two miles of Interstate 90 between Bozeman and Belgrade, running the auction books for the local chapter of Pheasants Forever, and running a year-long investment challenge.
The Club also holds social events such as a Student-Faculty Mixers each semester and Club holiday parties. In January 2011, the Club travelled to New York City to tour America’s largest and most important financial institutions including Morgan Stanley, Standard & Poor’s, the New York Federal Reserve Bank, the New York Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ, and Citigroup. We plan to take a trip of this nature every other year.
Finance Club meets on Thursdays at 6:10 p.m. in 452 Reid Hall
