Management 480: Social Entrepreneurship
Course Description
Successful not-for-profit organizations translate sound business practices into social delivery systems. This course is for those wanting a career in nonprofit management (or currently working in the sector) and/or those who just want to learn how to be an effective board member.
MGMT 480 is designed to strengthen the leadership and management capacities of individuals by incorporating classroom and experiential learning as students develop and submit an IRS Form 1023 Application for Recognition of Exemption. Course content focuses on the management principles of planning and accountability, leadership, fiscal responsibility, and fundraising and marketing in the not-for-profit setting.

- Jr Standing or Consent of the Instructor is required
- Class will be Fridays from 11:00 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. during Spring 2009
- It is open to CoB and non-CoB students and adults from the community
- Non CoB Students need to contact Terry Profota to get instructions for enrollment
- Class size is limited to 16 and will be held in 450 Reid Hall
