In addition to teaching management, Scott serves as the Executive Director of the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West. Scott received his Ph.D. in strategic management from the University of Oregon. He has a B.A. in philosophy and marketing and an M.B.A. from Seattle Pacific University. He has worked in an advertising agency and a technology start-up in Seattle, spent a year in Poland teaching English, and worked as an admissions officer for nearly five years at Seattle Pacific University. His experience with technology companies in the Seattle area has prompted an interest in researching how high-tech firms manage knowledge to create sustainable competitive advantages. He has published articles in the Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, and Group and Organization Management. He has conducted research projects at Microsoft and other technology companies in the Seattle area. |
