Dr. Susan Dana

Susan Dana was appointed the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Director of the Bracken Center for Excellence in Undergraduate Business Education in 2007. Prior thereto she taught at the College of Business for 10 years, primarily in the areas of business law and international business. She is the recipient of a variety of teaching awards, including the President's Excellence in Teaching Award, the Dean's Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching, the College of Business Code of Excellence Award, and the MSU Alumni Association & Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce Award for Excellence. Her research interests include regulatory policy, international human resources management, and pedagogy.

Prof. Dana has a J. D. from Stanford Law School and a B. A. from Brown University where she majored in Classics (Latin, Greek, and Ancient History and Religions). Before coming to MSU, Prof. Dana taught business organizations and international trade law at the University of Montana School of Law. Before that, she served as Special Master and law clerk for Judge John Larson in Missoula, Montana, and prior thereto was an associate at the law firm of Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering in Washington, D.C., where she practiced in the corporate and international departments. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, as well as of the state bars of Montana and California.

Prof. Dana serves on the MSU International Programs Committee and the Liberal Studies Steering Committee, and on the board of the Federal Defenders of Montana (public defenders for the federal court in Montana). She grew up in Washington, D.C. and the Netherlands and speaks Dutch.
