Dr. Agnieszka Kwapisz

Dr. Agnieszka Kwapisz is a Visiting Professor in the College of Business (CoB) at Montana State University (MSU). With a M.S. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Economics, her strength is in quantitative analysis as applied to a variety of problems relevant to economics and business. She is a certified Black Belt Six Sigma. Agnieszka has worked in the areas of Public Finance, Entrepreneurship, Operation Management, Health Economics, Education, and Risk and Uncertainty. Her research has been published in the National Tax Journal, Mathematical Social Sciences, Southern Economic Journal, Applied Financial Economics, Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice, Journal of Education for Business, Research in Higher Education, Economics Research International, and Journal of Studies on Alcohol. Agnieszka has successfully won grants from the National Institutes of Health (with Dr. Douglas Young, Professor Emeritus, MSU, Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics) and the National Academy of Sciences. Agnieszka also leads the CoB Research Group which discusses various issues in business.

Agnieszka loves teaching. In 2007, she received the MSU President’s Excellence in Teaching Award. She has taught courses in the CoB and in the Economics Department, including statistical methods for business, macro, micro, introductory economics, public finance, managerial accounting, undergraduate research, and a freshman seminar for business. Agnieszka is a mentor for new MSU tenure track faculty members who are starting their first academic job. She posts ideas about what works in our classrooms on the CoB Teaching Blog. In her free time Agnieszka loves to ski, windsurf, bike, hike, and enjoys many other outdoor activities.
