Dr. Myleen Leary

Dr. Myleen Leary received her doctorate in organizational theory and strategy from the University of Wisconsin, where she also taught undergraduate classes in strategy, organizational behavior, and organizational theory.  She received her bachelor’s degree in economics and modern languages from Providence College and her master’s degree in international management from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management.

Prior to joining the faculty at MSU in 2007, Leary was an assistant professor of management at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) from 2004 to 2007 where she taught strategy at the graduate and undergraduate levels. 

Leary’s research focuses on founders, top management teams, and boards of directors in new ventures and non-profits.  Her research has been published in journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Group & Organizational Management, Management Research News, and Leadership and Organization Development Journal and presented at national and international conferences.
