COB P & T POLICIES/DOCUMENTS

Current MSU policy allows multiple P & T Documents to be in effect. The rationale for this policy was to protect faculty from being adversely impacted by changes in standards and expectations. In essence, the policy is as follows:

1. Retention Review: Candidates being reviewed for retention are to be evaluated using the P & T Document that was in effect at the time of hire.
2. Tenure Review: Candidates being reviewed for tenure will be evaluated using the P & T Document that was in effect when the candidate was retained. (Anyone being reviewed for tenure without having had a retention review will be evaluated using the P & T Document that was in effect at the time of their hire.)
3. Promotion: Candidates being reviewed for non-tenure related promotions will be evaluated using the most recent, current P & T Document.

The College of Business has been changing its P & T Document resulting in there being three applicable P & T Documents at the present time. Select the appropriate document from those listed below based on the type of review, date of hire or date of retention, and effective date of the P & T Document.

3. August 2005 - P & T Document
4. August 2006 - P & T Document
