Helping Management Students Find Jobs
Management faculty take a personal interest in helping students find
professional employment. We work with the University’s Career
Services Center during the annual career fair and host a special reception
for companies interested in hiring Management students. To help prepare
students for the job-search process, we integrate career assessment exercises
into the management curriculum and strongly support for-credit and non-credit internships.

- To receive resume critiques and mock interviews, the Career Peers have hours in the Bracken Center on a regular basis. Career Services, SUB 125, also provides resume critiques.

Research consistently shows that undertaking an internship as an undergraduate significantly improves chances of finding a good job upon graduation. The College's internship program through the Bracken Center allows a student to earn course credit and gain valuable experience while working in a business environment. Internships are particularly valuable to Management students because managerial competence deepens while actively experiencing a true work environment. Students can undertake such an internship during the semester in addition to taking classes, or they can devote a summer or an entire semester to an internship.
Graduate School Preparation
Alumni report that a degree in Business Management from MSU provides
excellent preparation for graduate studies, and a number
of students go on to earn master’s degrees in Business Administration.
Since most top graduate programs require work experience as a condition
of admission, we strongly encourage students to work for a minimum of
two years before pursuing graduate education. |
