SCOTT BRYANT - Executive Director, Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West
Assistant Professor of Management, College of Business
Scott received his Ph.D. in management, with an emphasis in strategy and entrepreneurship, from the University of Oregon in 2002. He has a BA (1990) in philosophy and marketing and an MBA (1998) from Seattle Pacific University. He worked in a small advertising agency and a technology startup in Seattle, spent a year in Poland teaching English, and worked as an admissions officer for nearly 5 years at Seattle Pacific University.
His experience with technology companies in the Seattle area has prompted an interest in researching how high-tech, entrepreneurial firms manage knowledge to create sustainable competitive advantages. He has published articles in the Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship, the International Small Business Journal, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, and Group and Organization Management. He has conducted research projects at Microsoft and other technology companies in the Seattle area. |

RICHARD J. SEMENIK- Founding Executive Director - 2002-2006
Dr. Rich Semenik received his undergraduate degree from the University
of Michigan in 1970, an M.B.A. from Michigan State University in
1971, and his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1976. At the
Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, Rich chaired
the Marketing Department for 12 years.
Dr. Semenik has published 50 articles and 11 books on marketing
and advertising. His co-authored text, Advertising, is now
used in 450 universities in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe.
He serves as a reviewer for major journals in the area of marketing
and advertising. Dr. Semenik consults with both small organizations
and multinational corporations. He has done consulting for IBM,
SFX Entertainment, Premier Resorts (London/Deer Valley), the Van
Gough Museum (Amsterdam) and the Breakers Resort. |

BRUCE C. RAYMOND, PhD
Associate Dean for Administration and Finance
College of Business
Dr. Raymond earned his PhD in Operations Management at the University of Utah in 1987. He entered the academic profession as Assistant Professor of Operations Management at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in September 1986. In the fall of 1990 he came to MSU and in the ensuing years has made numerous contributions to the College of Business. His teaching and scholarship have been recognized through the MSU Alumni Chamber of Commerce Award for Excellence in 1995, by induction into the National Honorary, Phi Kappa Phi, in 1995, and through his selection as the 1998 College of Business Commencement Speaker. During his scholarly career he has published over 25 refereed articles in various journals and proceedings including The Journal of Small Business Management, The JAI Press, Industrial Management, Computer Personnel and The Journal of Education for Business. Dr. Raymond's fields of inquiry include the simulation of managerial decision making and investigation of learning processes.
In 1995 he was appointed as the AACSB accreditation coordinator and directed the college-wide efforts culminating in the reaffirmation of the college's accreditation in 1997. In 1997 he served at the university level as the internal auditor for the successful campus-wide NASC reaccreditation process. In 1999 he accepted his current position as Associate Dean of the College of Business. In this capacity he provides oversight for college budgets and accounts and manages infrastructure and technology. Recent accomplishments include contributions to the successful development of three new minor programs as well as the creation of the Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West.
