The Montana State University College of Business will host the 4th annual Classic Open Benefit for the College of Business golf tournament, Friday, September 16 at Valley View Golf Club in Bozeman. The 4-member, scramble format tournament is open to all players and will begin with a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. Co-hosts of the event this year include First Security Bank, Cardinal Distributing of Bozeman and Dick Walter Auto Group.

You can register in teams of four members or as an individual. The tournament is $115 per golfer. This fee will include lunch, mulligan, tee prizes, a barbecue dinner/auction, great team prizes and several individual prizes.

There will be some major prizes golfers will compete for, but nothing compares to the prestige of having your name etched on the crystal traveling trophy! The team with the best gross score will be the next to have their name etched in the traveling trophy and have the honors of displaying the trophy at their place of business throughout the year. The team of Steve Wheeler, Norm Millikin, Scott Lineroth and Les Mahon will be back to defend their title!

The tournament is offering several sponsorship options including tee box sponsors, fleet sponsors, or donating items or dollars that will be used for prizes and auction items.

Proceeds from the tournament will be used to provide funding for College of Business student enhancement programs as well as support scholarships. In February 2005, three "Friends of the Classic Open Benefit Golf Tournament" scholarships were award to business students at the annual scholarship banquet.

"The tournament was very successful last year and we are excited about the positive feedback we have received," said tournament director, Jackie Sather. "The success was due largely to the generosity of our sponsors, prize donations and the enthusiasm and spirit of the golfers. We do have a lot of fun at this event!"
