Second Annual Sporting Clays Team Championship a Success

The second annual Sporting Clays Team Championship was held June 26, at the Gallatin Sporting Clays Club in Logan. Several teams competed and last year's winning team of Pete McGee, Bill Warden, Fred Bell and Tim Kearns successfully defended its title. Second place went to the team of Tom Sather, Ed Brandt, Dennis Schmidt and Jim Applebee.

The shooting event was followed by a barbeque. Each participant was eligible to win a Beretta 686 shotgun. John Satterwhite from Dick Walter Subaru took home the coveted firearm. Shooters also participated in a hat raffle. Tom Sather of Sather Eye Clinic donated a print won by Bill Brown, Tim Keanrs won a wall clock donated by Yellowstone Gateway Sports and Bill Warden won a certificate towards the purchase of prescription shooting glasses also donated by Sather Eye Clinic. Special thanks to Murdoch's for donating the hats and Cardinal Distributing for providing the refreshments at the barbecue.

Overall, the event was a great success and brought in much appreciated funds for College of Business students. Next years Sporting Clays Team Championship will be held in June. For more information, please contact Jackie Sather at (406) 994.6766 or email jsather@montana.edu.
