Delmar Jones, motivational speaker, president of the Cindel Group Inc. and owner of Jonesy's Classic Cleaners will present "Values of Leadership and Networking Skills," Thursday, April 10. The 50-minute session will begin at 4:10 p.m. in 108 Reid Hall on the MSU campus.

Delmar, as the David Orser Executive Speakers Forum guest presenter at the MSU College of Business, will share the knowledge and skills he obtained at the General Electric Crotonville Executive Management School in leadership and management training. Business owners, members of the community and MSU students and faculty are encouraged to attend and to participate in a question and answer session following the lecture.

Using a 9-block grid utilized by the GE management team, Delmar will lead participants through frameworks designed to help individuals set strategies, bring value to a company, make decisions and become an effective manger, owner or team leader. He will provide examples of tools and performance assessments used by GE to assist in the evaluation and promotion process and will discuss how he uses these practices to manage his businesses today. Participants will gain knowledge of how to make an immediate impact in a company, build networks of support and fine tune business and personal skills that will give them a competitive edge.

Jones has more than 20 years of experience in business. After graduating from MSU with a Business degree in marketing, Jones worked for GE Plastics in various senior level management and marketing positions. It was with GE that he attained his Six Sigma Green Belt Certification through the Crotonville Executive Management School. He helped lead integration efforts from private firm to public, as well as opening two world class distribution centers for manufactured stone as Vice President of Customer Operations for Owens Corning, Cultured Stone Division. Jones also worked for Smurfit Stone as Vice President of Operations. He now owns and runs Cindel Group Inc. and Jonesy's Classic Cleaners out of Medina, Ohio. Additionally, he shares his expertise and experiences as a motivational speaker. Jones, a Helena native, played football while at Montana State University with Coach Sonny Holland and was a member of the 1976 Division II national championship team.

David B. Orser, a 1966 MSU graduate, began funding the program in 1988 to inspire MSU business students to pursue careers as innovative, responsible and ethical business leaders.
