10,000 Hours Project
It’s simple: volunteer 10+ hours and get exclusive tickets to a Concert that only you and other volunteers can attend. The idea is that as a campus working together we can accomplish a lot of good. Then, each year we’ll bring in a different big name band who will hold a concert just for the 10,000 Hour participants. You did the work, so you get rewarded, no one else can go, no matter how much they want to pay, this concert is not for sale; it’s just for you. Thanks!
History of 10,000 Hours
Back in 2002 some committed undergraduate at the University of Iowa had and idea to get their fellow students involved in their community. The project was incredibly successful, and as good ideas usually does, it spread like wildfire. These amazing students partnered with the United Way of America and now the 10,000 Hours Project is a national United Way program.
10,000 Hours was created by students for students, and that tradition continues here at MSU where the 10,000 Hours Project will be headed by an AmeriCorps student working out of our office. This project is a testament to what dedicated people can do if they put their minds and bodies into action.
In fall of 2008 the planning will begin. We are looking for students who would like to take a leadership role in the 2 year process. Please contact OCI by calling 994-6902 or shoot us an email at 10000hours@montana.edu we have lots of great work to do, so join us!
