Service Saturdays are service projects held on the first Saturday of the month that are coordinated and sponsored by MSU’s Office for Community Involvement & Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU).  Projects will vary from month to month, so please check back for upcoming project details. Click here to see photos from previous Service Saturdays!

 


2009-2010 Service Saturday Dates:

October 3rd:
Townes Harvest Winterization - Work outside to get the community garden ready for winter
Bridger Bowl Raptor Fest - A fun festival that teaches about birds of prey
Children’s Museum Spooktacular - Preperation work

November 7th:
Bridger clinic mailings - Work inside to get this large mailing out for this non-profit
Family Fest - Gift Wraping for Big Brothers Big Sisters
Huffing for Stuffing- Food bank help before the Huffing for Stuffing fundraiser
Can the Griz - Food Drive competition against U of M


December 5th:
Family Promise of Gallatin Valley – Decorate the Day House for the holiday season. Learn more
Downtown Partnership – Setting up for the Christmas Stroll. learn more
Wellness Community – Help with demolition work at their new location! learn more
Gallatin Rest Home & Meals on Wheels – Holiday card making. learn more
Emerson Cultural Center – Preparation for their gingerbread house making event. learn more

Meet:  South side of SUB (bus loop)
Time:  10am-12pm.  Please plan to arrive 15 min. early. 
Transportation:   Will be provided if the service site is not within walking distance of MSU. 
What to bring/wear:

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty
  • Wear close-toed shoes as some projects may be manual labor
  • Bring water/snacks or other items you may need

About the service Projects:

About the Christmas Stroll:
Volunteers are needed to hang signs, set-up tables & chairs, and other tasks to prepare for the Christmas Stroll which takes place that evening. The Christmas Stroll is an event hosted by the Downtown Bozeman Association, which is an organization dedicated to keeping downtown Bozeman a thriving heart of the community.

About The Wellness Community:
The Wellness Community is moving to a new location that is currently under renovation. Volunteers are needed to remove debris, remove old carpet and drywall. Come prepared to get dirty! Gloves will be provided.

About Card Making:
Help us decorate over 400 cards for teh Gallatin Rest Home, Meals on Wheels, & Senior Grocery Program. Make the holiday season a little brighter for the elderly in our community! This activity will take place on campus in the SUB.

About Gingerbread House Making:
As part of the Christmas Stroll activites, the Emerson Cultural Center for the Arts hosts a gingerbread house making for children indoors before the stroll. Volunteers are needed to help set-up for this huge event.

About Holiday Decorating:
Family Promise of Gallatin Valley needs volunteers to decorate their day house for the holiday season. Come get into the Christmas spirt with this fun volunteer opportunity!
